Historians, students, classes, tourists, and people of all ages visit sites where historic events happened. Here in America Gettysburg National Battlefield comes to mind, as well as other lesser known sites. We go to commemorate what happened, we go to find artifacts and some of us go to check out a haunting or two. These places are a few creepy spots to tantalize your taste for spooks.
WWII began in Europe long before it reached the American shores.These barracks near Hesse , Germany was occupied by troops several times before they were occupied during WWII.
Babenhousen Barracks Hesse, Germany
While used as an army barracks, it was eventually turned into a museum in latter years. Visitors to the site have seen lights go on and off, seen the ghostly images of German soldiers, and others have heard shouted German military commands over the loudspeaker.
WWII saw a lot of bloodshed, it was one of the most destructive wars in known history. Because of this ghosts and creepy places exist in Europe by the pound. It wouldn't be very far fetched to see a paranormal group or two around a forest where a battle took place.
Dacahau concentration camp
The model concentration camp of all camps is open as a museum now for tourists. At one point the camp held 30,000 prisoners instead of the 5,000 that the camp was built to hold. The ambiance is heavy, and suffering amassed in small buildings still resides here. Visitors speak of the feeling of people around them, or an emotional drain from just touring.

A former WWII battleship calls this place home, and it is also a museum. Recently, a family filmed a ghostly encounter that made it to the local news. They can be seen running away after whistling, perhaps trying to have a ghostly encounter?
There are so many places that WWII touched, each one fascinating for it's horror, paranormal instances, and actual historical value. So let me ask you-have you been to any haunted places?
